Emma & Ashley have been Mortgage 1st clients for many years now, we arranged their residential mortgage in 2019 on their new family home just before they welcomed their daughter Ella into the world.
More recently, in 2022 we secured a Holiday Let Mortgage for them as an investment and an exciting new project- a traditional fisherman’s cottage in the seaside town of Filey. Both Emma & Ashley grew up visiting the North East Yorkshire coastline as children and have fond memories of the area.
Applying for a Holiday Let Mortgage is never straight forward but add to that additional post pandemic complications. As Emma & Ashley are both self-employed and work in industries that were sadly affected by the lockdowns and covid restrictions there were extra hurdles to overcome.
Their Adviser Shaun Burke worked hard on their application and with regular client and lender communications he secured their mortgage offer in only 3 weeks followed by full completion a further 6 weeks later!
Emma & Ashley collected the keys in the summer of 2022 and renovation work on Pebbles Cottage began. They planned to fully restore the 2 bedroom character cottage with a combination of traditional features and luxury interiors.
Alongside running their businesses, taking care of their daughter and now a full renovation project, they certainly had a busy few months ahead!

It’s now February 2023 and their beautiful holiday cottage has been fully restored and has already welcomed its first paying guests. The cottage is unrecognisable!
